1. ABOUT UME.LA AND THIS REPORT
UME.LA is a link-management and URL-shortening service operated by Compit Ltd., company number 12484949, registered in England and Wales.
We publish this report voluntarily to explain:
- requests received from government and law-enforcement authorities;
- automated link screening and manual abuse reports;
- link and account enforcement;
- intellectual property complaints;
- child sexual exploitation and abuse ("CSEA") reporting; and
- data protection requests.
Publication of this report is not a statement that UME.LA has or does not have a particular classification under the Online Safety Act 2023. The application of that Act depends on the functions and circumstances of the relevant service. Where a legal duty applies, we intend to comply with it.
2. METHODOLOGY AND LIMITATIONS
The figures below reflect the operational and administrative records available to Compit Ltd. for the reporting period. UME.LA does not currently operate a single automated transparency-reporting pipeline, so figures can require manual classification across the web form, email, Telegram reports, automated security checks and administrative actions.
One incident can involve multiple links or accounts. Unless stated otherwise, link counts refer to UME.LA short links, not items hosted by destination websites. A disabled link prevents use of the UME.LA redirect but does not remove content from the destination.
The figures originally published for this reporting period have been retained in this revision. The revision corrects descriptions of the Service and its screening process; it does not replace the historical counts.

We assess requests for legal validity, scope and jurisdiction. We disclose data where required or permitted by applicable law and seek to limit disclosure to what is lawfully required. We may preserve information when subject to a valid preservation requirement.
We may notify an affected person where legally permitted and where notice would not create a safety, security or investigative risk. We do not promise advance notice in every case.
4. AUTOMATED SECURITY SCREENING
UME.LA checks destination URLs against local threat-list data supplied through Google Web Risk. Most checks can be resolved using the local database or cache. If a local hash match requires confirmation, the full destination URL is sent to the Google Web Risk API.
New links are checked when submitted and may be scheduled for additional checks approximately 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours and 24 hours after creation. Bulk or migrated links may receive checks at approximately 30 minutes and 24 hours. The current implementation does not continuously re-scan every active link each day.
Google Web Risk screening is focused on malware, social engineering and unwanted software. Other AUP violations are generally identified through reports or administrative review.

Reports can be submitted through https://umela.io/legal/abuse, by email to abuse@umela.io, or through the Telegram Bot's /report command.
The web form records the reporter's name and email address, reported URL, category and explanation. Available categories include spam, violence, child abuse, pornography, illegal goods, personal data, copyright, fraud and other concerns.

UME.LA does not host destination content. Rights holders may also need to contact the operator or hosting provider of the destination website.
7. CSEA AND CHILD SAFETY
If UME.LA is subject to a CSEA reporting duty under the Online Safety Act 2023 and the related regulations, detected and unreported CSEA content must be reported through the legally required channel. Independently of a specific reporting classification, we may refer apparent child sexual abuse or immediate child-safety risks to competent authorities where permitted by law.

Account deletion removes the active user and related records from the primary account database, subject to the retention described in the Privacy Policy. Historical Click Data is not currently removed automatically by account deletion.
10. CLICK, GEOLOCATION AND WEBSITE ANALYTICS
For every redirect or scan event, UME.LA can record the visitor's IP address and GeoIP-derived country, region, city, latitude and longitude, together with browser, device, referrer, UTM and link information. GeoIP coordinates are estimates and are not GPS coordinates.
Link owners can access event-level analytics for their own links. UME.LA does not sell Click Data or use it for advertising. Further information is available in the Privacy Policy.
Separately, UME.LA uses Google Analytics 4 to measure use of its websites and application. This website analytics is used for aggregate statistical service improvement and is not made available to link owners. Google Analytics is configured without User-ID, Google Signals, advertising personalisation or remarketing. UME.LA does not receive individual IP addresses from Google Analytics.

We intend to publish transparency reports every six months. The next report is planned for January 2027 and is expected to cover the period following this report.
